Apparently some people used to actually visit my top music list and were disappointed when I stopped updating it about three years ago. After all the name-calling, death-threats and terroristic phone calls at work I’ve decided to start the list again, except I’m just going to post it in this blog from now on.

To make it super easy, I wrote a macro that exports my new release list in iTunes to an HTML table, so all I have to do is paste the HTML table into this blog and I’m ready to go. Pretty geeky, huh? I’ve been having a lot of geek moments lately..

So here’s the music I’ve been listening to lately, you even get to see when I added it to my iTunes library. Lucky you!

Remy Maxwell is no longer the M-F drive home DJ on 93X in Minneapolis. You know Remy, the so-called ‘Long-Haired Tatooed Freak.’ In fact, he’s not on 93X at all anymore. Word is, they gave him the boot for being careless and letting an F-bomb slip on the air. After 8 years, he’s gone just like that, for one word. Just a word. Another rumor is that ABC has sold 93X, and the station might be seeing a format change. Meanwhile, 93X has done a great job of keeping Remy’s termination quiet.

To me, Remy was the rock DJ that set the standard and no one else can quite measure up. He was a very fun character to listen to. Seeing that Remy was voted City Pages’ Best DJ of the Year many years running, I’m sure that he will be missed by many, including myself even though I’ve just been listening to him for a few years. Hopefully he’ll land a satellite radio gig like former 93X leading DJ Tawn Mastrey did, and won’t have to worry about pushing some button to bleep out words.

93x just won’t be worth listening to without Remy. Someone had better start a new station, or I think a lot of people will be investing in satellite radio. That will suck for all the local advertisers, but they can thank the FCC and their rediculous fines for that.

There’s more discussion about Remy’s termination and 93X being sold on this MusicScene forum.

Well i’m back from vacation and thought i’d be getting everything settled into normality again by now, but that’s not the case. My allergies have gone way out of control and i’m miserably sick, and was sick most of the weekend while I was in North Dakota. It sucked, I was all healthy the days it was rainy and cold out but the days it was sunny and beautiful outside I was in the house on the couch coughing and sniffling. It was still a nice weekend though.

The concert was great, I wore out my voice and had a sore neck the following couple of days though, i’m partly blaming that concert for my illness right now, I think I overdid it a little. But it was a necessary thing, I really needed to unleash as i’ve been stressed out lately.

The day we were leaving my car broke down at a 15 minute parking meter in front of the bank downtown. So I had to get it from the bank to my apartment, which costed a little over a hundred dollars.

The electrical system melted, well parts of it did and so now there is no electrical system and the car cannot be started. So it’s parked, and i’m getting rid of it. It’ll probably go through a salvage auction, but i’m keeping it around until I finalize all the stuff for my insurance mess because of that little accident that happened the beggining of this month. Nothing new to talk about in regards to that. But the good news is, while I was in North Dakota I got a new car. If you know me or if you’ve browsed this website in it’s entirety you may be familiar with my first car, the 1977 Chrysler LeBaron nicknamed “The Red Baron.” Well, I got a 1987 Chrysler LeBaron, it’s 10 years newer but it’s still a LeBaron, and this one is blue so it will have to be called the “Blue Baron” It seems to be a great car and if it’s anything like it’s predecessor from 1977 it will be a great car for a long time, but I guess i’ll keep my fingers crossed. It’s still a used car, and I don’t know how it’s been treated.

So as i’m getting to know the car i’m getting back into the routine here while putting up with a bad cold. I went to work yesterday and went today but had to leave early because I was too sick to stay, I only worked for about two hours. I have class tommorow and hopefully i’ll be able to sit through that as I missed all my classes on Thursday last week. I got a lot of pictures up in North Dakota over the weekend and will be piecing together a photo album on the pics page when I get time. I have pictures of all the cars and the pictures from Germany and other stuff so there will actually be some content on that page soon. Well that’s all for now i’ll talk to you again soon.
